Music to Move To Throughout Sunday

Tonight the Grammys are on, and I will be watching. Until then, I need some music to move to while I get through my chores:

The best wake up song (also good for starting on any project):

Intro by Xx

The Winner Is by Devotchka
In my opinion, which is of course professional, this is the most beautiful song.

I Want You Back by Jackson Five
I want to squeeze little Michael.

Countdown by Beyonce
Time to start dancing if you haven't already.

This Is What Makes Us Girls by Lana Del Rey
Everything by Lana is quite awesome. Pay close attention to her lyrics.

Thrift Shop by Macklemore ft. Ryan Lewis
Sorry if you're sick of this song... I don't think I ever will be.

Black Sheep by Gin Wigmore
She has a different voice, but I find it enjoyable.

Lonely Boy by The Black Keys
These boys hail from Akron, OH which is about an hour from where I grew up. So, basically we're best friends. (I wish.) It is so worth to actually sit and watch this video. I wonder if I can hire him to dance at a big event sometime.

New Slang by The Shins
Time to slow it back down a bit.

Welcome Home by Radical Face
I like the haunting quality of this. I like music that sounds a little more haunting and is heavy on the instrumentals (see first two songs in this post.)

Heartbeats by Jose Gonzalez
Jose has a wonderful voice & beautiful music. Check out Cycling Trivialities of his- haunting and musical.

All Is Love by Karen O and the Kids
I think this is the best goodnight song. I used to babysit my niece and nephew quite often. Shortly after Spike Jonze's version of Where the Wild Things Are came out, my niece and nephew would request the soundtrack to play as they fell asleep. I'd sit at the kitchen counter and do homework while the album went around and around on repeat. It was soothing to the kids and to me. My favorite memory of that time is hearing the two of them sing along from their bunk beds as they drifted off to sleep. My hope is that you will slip into a peaceful sleep as well.

Goodnight! xoxo
